Appointments and Fees

Making an appointment

You can contact me to discuss whether I can help with the issues you are facing.

Fees

I charge $230 (including GST) for a 55 minute session. I would appreciate payment of fees at the end of each session. I do not have eftpos but accept  cash or bank transfers on the day of the appointment. Some medical insurers contribute towards payment of counselling with Registered Psychologists– please check with your insurer.

If you need to cancel an appointment please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. A late cancellation fee may otherwise be charged.

Unpaid accounts will be passed on to a debt recovery service which charges you their commission and/or costs to recover the debt, in addition to the amount owed.

What to expect

Appointments are usually 55 minutes long. During our first session we will discuss the issues that brought you to see me and you will be able to get a sense of whether you would like to work with me. I will also discuss with you my ideas on how we could approach therapy.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Clinical psychologists practice in accordance with the Psychologists Board Code of Ethics. One principle is that we do not provide information about you to others / third parties without your consent. However, there are some exceptions to these guidelines. For example, if the psychologist thinks that you or another person may be in danger (e.g. they think you may harm yourself, harm someone else, or be harmed) they can tell other relevant people even if you say they cannot. A psychologist may also talk to their supervisor about what you tell them, but do this in a way which avoids identifying who you are.
